Join us for "Field to Table: Benefits of Wild Food Sources," an enlightening educational class taught by Will Funk, Director of Wildlife Rehabilitation at the Wild Care Foundation and seasoned Wildlife Biologist. This class explores the nutritional and ecological benefits of incorporating wild food sources into your diet. Will Funk will share his extensive knowledge on foraging, sustainable harvesting, and the health advantages of wild foods. Participants will gain practical tips on identifying, collecting, and preparing wild edibles, as well as understanding their role in promoting biodiversity and environmental sustainability. Enhance your connection to nature and discover the wholesome benefits of wild food sources with expert guidance from Will Funk.

About your instructor

Will Funk, an Oklahoma native, is a Wildlife Biologist and avid world traveler with a rich and diverse background in animal care and research. After earning two degrees from Oklahoma State University, he obtained a Master’s from the Royal Veterinary College in London. Will's extensive experience includes veterinary nursing, chemical immobilization, rehabilitation, and post-mortem investigations. His work has taken him across continents, including Africa, Australia, Europe, North America, and he has also worked with marine mammals. He is a certified field anesthesiologist and an IWRC Certified Wildlife Rehabilitator. Currently, Will serves as the Director of Wildlife Rehabilitation at Wild Care Foundation in Noble, where he continues his research on parasites in raptors, a project that began during his tenure at the Royal Veterinary College. He continually enhances his expertise in handling birds of all sizes. Outside of work, Will enjoys serving his community, going to concerts, traveling, camping, hiking, exploring microbreweries and distilleries, and spending time with his dog, Sadie.
